The country of Uganda has many widows as a result of HIV/AIDS, and wars in the north. In many cases the widows have not source of income, and no family or goverment support. Project Widows Help is a small small mission started by Skyline Community Church, web site skylinecommunitychurch.org to bring crafts from Uganda and local artisans, to raise funds for food, medical care, and shelter for the widows and orphans. Currently we have paper necklaces avalible to purchase for the support of these widows. All the money raised is sent to the Ray of Hope Widows and Orphanage Centre, in Kampala, Uganda. The mission in Uganda has about 50 widows on file they are trying to help, but a lack of funds greatly restricts what they are able to do. We are attempting to add to the work they are able to do. Having personally visited the homes of some of the widows and the mission, we know the need is staggering. But we can only do what what God gives us to do, and the rest is up to Him. Support for food for a widow and 2 children is about $5.00 a week. Many widows have 4-6 children, and the cost is $10-12 a week. The proceeds of 1 necklace is enough to buy food for a mother and her 2 children for a week. The idea that we can change the life of a mother and her children, and give them food for today, and hope for a future is trully amazing. How can we not do all we can, as God gives us grace. Please go to our link listed above for more information on the mission, and click on the Africa mission link. Thank you and God Bless you.
